Meet Annika Hawkes
Welcome! My name is Annika Hawkes, and I am the founder and owner of Meadowlark Voice Studio, located in Logan, Utah.
My approach to teaching is centered around creating a supportive and nurturing environment where students can discover their voices in safety and confidence. I strive to make complex concepts simple and fun to learn, while still challenging my students to grow and improve.
I grew up in a musical family and had the opportunity to study guitar, piano, and handbells. But it wasn’t until my first voice lesson that I truly fell in love with music. I set aside my other instruments and joyfully poured my heart into singing.
Throughout my teen years, I performed in auditioned choirs, competed in vocal competitions, and took on exciting solo roles—including the unforgettable experience of playing Maria in The Sound of Music. These early moments shaped my passion, but they didn’t prepare me for what came next.
When I began studying Vocal Performance in college, I realized my music literacy skills had fallen behind. Reading music, understanding theory, and interpreting scores didn’t come easily—but I was determined to grow. As I developed those skills, something remarkable happened: my confidence and opportunities expanded. I wasn’t just a singer anymore—I had become a musician.
That transformation is the heart behind Meadowlark Voice Studio. I founded it to empower singers with the same tools that changed my life: joyful, confidence-building vocal instruction rooted in strong musical literacy.
When I’m not teaching, I’m enjoying life as a wife and homeschooling mom of two. I love hiking, crocheting, and spending time with my family in the great outdoors.
